1813 – Estimated year of birth.

1855 – 15th October – Convicted in Middlesex of Stealing three Brass Plates (Aged 42) – Sentenced to 4 years Penal Servitude.

James is recorded as having a wife in Temple Bar and four children. He is a Carver & Gilder by trade.

1856 – 5th January – Received at Millbank Prison.

1856 – 1st August – Received at Portland Prison.

1859 – 3rd May – Received at Woking Convict Invalid Prison. Prisoner Number 20. Described as a slight man with a dark complexion and hazel eyes.

1859 – 14th October – Released from Woking Convict Invalid Prison.
