Timeline

1835 – Estimated year of birth. Eldest child of Henry and Sarah Johnson – Sarah was only 12 years old.

1835 – 14th June – Baptised at Ainderby Steeple, Yorkshire.

1851 – Census – Aged 16 – Basket Maker – Eldest of 7 children, living in Bedale, Yorkshire.

1855 – 23rd October – Convicted in North Allerton of Stealing a Rug. Sentenced to 4 years.

1856 – 21st January – Received at Wakefield Prison.

1856 – 26th July – Received at Portland Prison.

1859 – 3rd May – Received at Woking Convict Invalid Prison. Prisoner Number 16.

1859 – 22nd October – Released from Woking Convict Invalid Prison.
